Take a cruise over to Halibut Cove on Ismailof Island, one the thriving scenes of herring fishing, the village is now home to a few dozen residents - largely fishermen and artists. The 2.5 hour lay-over will give you time to get a bite at The Salty, and check out a few galleries in town. Well behaved, leashed pets are welcome aboard this cruise, but not the tours offered by this company.
