Fort Halifax was built in 1754 to protect colonial settlement alone the Kennebec River. In April of 1987, this National Historic Landmark was completely dismantled by incredible flood waters. With strong effort, the remains were collected and the blockhouse was reassembled in 1988. Leashed pets are welcome.
