This forest is an agricultural experiment station for Michigan State University and is administered by the Forestry Department. The station is known worldwide for research on tree breeding and genetics, planting techniques, plantation establishment, and management. Visitors are welcome to fish, bike, hike, drive the forest loop, cross-country ski, horseback ride, bow hunt, or enjoy the interpretive trails. Leashed pets are welcome to explore the grounds with you.
