This lighthouse, completed in 1875, stands 158 feet high and lit the remaining dark spot on the North Carolina coast between the Cape Henry light to the north and the Bodie Island light to the South. The grounds and walkways of this historic site have been rejuvenated and the exterior is nearly complete. Leashed pets are welcome to accompany you on the grounds, but are not allowed in the buildings.
