Visit this beautiful late 19th and early 20th century farm and tourist retreat. An early form of a B&B, guests would pay $5 per week for their room, three meals per day, and the entertainment provided by helping with the farm chores, square dances, and Sunday ice cream. The elegant main home was finished in 1880 and was constructed of bricks that were fired on site from French Broad River mud. Well behaved, leashed pets are welcome on the grounds and trails, but not in the buildings.
