This 22-acre site is one of the most pristine historic sites in Texas. Although much of the fort was destroyed by fire shortly after the army abandoned the fort in 1854, there are three original stone buildings, as well as chimneys and foundations that will give you a feel for what the original complex looked like. Leashed pets are welcome to explore the site with you.
