Dogs on a leash no longer than 6 feet are allowed on the beach, but are not permitted in the changing facility or lifeguard areas. Directions: Located on the southern tip of Pleasure Island near Wilmington, Fort Fisher lies between the Atlantic Ocean on the east and the Cape Fear River on the west.
