The park is located to the right of the restrooms inside the existing green space at Town Creek along the tree line. At 200 feet by 50 feet, it is slightly smaller than the dog park at Kiesel Park off Chadwick Lane, the only other designated dog park in the city.

According to Kevin Kelly, administrative coordinator for Auburn Parks and Recreation, the idea for the dog park was developed following a request to have an Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant dog park in the city.Town Creek Park is located at 1150 S. Gay St. There is a walking trail here that is 0.87 miles long, and an additional trail is being built around the pond. Town Creek Park also hosts the Spring Sundown Concert Series in May.
