The Ironwood Forest National Monument is about 25 miles northwest of Tucson an hour south of Phoenix. You can enter the area from Interstate 10 at Avra Valley Road or Interstate 10 from the Red Rock exit, southwest on Sasco Road to Silverbell Road.
Some trails are rugged and require a four-wheel drive vehicle.
