Woodford State Park sits on a mountain plateau at an elevation of 2,400 feet and is comprised of 398 acres. Many lakes and ponds surround the area. Rowboats, canoes, and kayaks are available for rent and the park also offers several hiking trails. The 2.7 mile trail around the lake is beautiful.

Pets are not permitted on the sandy beach or in most cabins, but are allowed elsewhere throughout the park including the campers' beach. At this time, only the Lady Slipper cabin is pet- friendly
