Sedan’s elevation (4,350 feet) means that you’ll see some snow over the winter. But it’s not so high up that you miss out on a warm summer. For outdoor explorers, the best months to visit are the spring and fall—March, April, May, October, and November.

The area has miles of dog friendly hiking trails in several nearby national forests and wilderness areas— the Coconino National Forest, Red Rock-Secret Mountain Wilderness, Munds Mountain Wilderness, and Sycamore Canyon Wilderness. You could hike for days and not run out of trails.
