The Third Annual Pet Blogger Challenge is coming up on January 10th and all pet bloggers are invited to join this community event! Take time to get to know each other a bit better, share tips for making our blogs better, and generally commiserate, inspire, and support each other. It’s an opportunity to celebrate what we’ve accomplished over the last year, recognize how we’ve changed and grown, and lay out our vision for the year ahead.
Participating is easy … just answer the following questions about your blog and publish the answers on January 10th. A Linky list will be available so that we’ll all be able to find each others posts easily.
Thanks to everyone who submitted question suggestions! And without further ado …
First Timers
If this is your first time participating in the Challenge we are looking forward to getting to know more about you and how you got started. Here are your questions:
1. When did you begin your blog?
2. What was your original purpose for starting a blog?
3. Is your current purpose the same?
If not, what’s different?
If so, how do you feel you’ve met your goals?
4. How often do you post?
5. Do you blog on a schedule or as the spirit moves you?
If you publish on a schedule, why? How strict are you about your publishing deadlines? What do you do for inspiration when it feels like you’ve covered every topic?
If you don’t publish on a schedule, why? How do you think your decision affects your audience? How do you know when a topic is “post-worthy?”
6. How much time do you spend writing your blog per week? How much time visiting other blogs? Share your tips for staying on top of it all.
7. How do you measure the success of a post and of your blog in general (comments, shares, traffic)?
Do you look strictly at the numbers, or do you have a way of assessing the quality of those interactions?
8. If you could ask the pet blogging community for help with one issue you’re having with your blog, what would it be?
9. What goals do you have for your blog in 2013?
Repeat Offenders
If you participated in the Challenge last year we can’t wait to see how things have changed for you in the past twelve months. Here are your questions:
1. How long have you been blogging and provide a link to your post from last year’s Pet Blogger Challenge so we can refresh our memories.
2. What do you consider the most important goals you set out in last year’s post?
3. Have you made progress toward those goals, or have your goals changed over the past year?
4. How often do you post?
5. Has your opinion of blogging on a schedule or as the spirit moves you changed?
If you publish on a schedule, why? How strict are you about your publishing deadlines? What do you do for inspiration when it feels like you’ve covered every topic?
If you don’t publish on a schedule, why? How do you think your decision affects your audience? How do you know when a topic is “post-worthy?”
The big event is only a bit more than two weeks away! If you have any questions or need a little help, don’t be afraid to ask – building camaraderie is what the Pet Blogger Challenge is all about! And, if you’re so inclined, we’d appreciate your help spreading the word by sharing the badge on your blog.
