The area offers 30 basic campsites, all of which are located along the shoreline and near mature trees. Water and primitive toilets are available. A water hydrant is available from May 1 through Oct. 1.

Camping at Cottonwood SRA is all first-come, first-served and campers register their nightly camping fees in a raised, locked box called an Iron Ranger. Self-service envelopes are provided at each Iron Ranger station. Check or cash only.

Pets on leashes up to six feet long are welcome in Nebraska state parks and campgrounds, but are not allowed in lodge rooms, public buildings, and designated swimming beaches or pools.
