With wood-paneled ceilings, pine furniture, comfy seating, and stainless steel appliances, the home’s interior looks and feels like a rustic cabin that’s been updated for the modern age. Meals are meant to be shared, so eat with your whole group at either the six-chair dining table or the three-chair breakfast bar. On crisp Colorado days when you can smell the fresh pine in the air, you could eat at the dinette set on the back patio, and there’s even a gas grill if you’d like to barbecue.
Great rest will come easy in any of the home’s five bedrooms, which all offer quiet and peaceful spaces to get the best night’s sleep you’ve had in a long time. Up to 16 guests (13 adults maximum, please) can sleep on a king bed, three queen beds, one double bed, one twin bed, and even one futon. Modestly furnished with items like knotty pine bed frames, reading lamps on nightstands, and mountain-themed decor, the rooms exude a comfortable coziness.
Other amenities of this home include a spacious entertainment room with a comfy oversized couch affront a media center, a washer/dryer, and a backyard hot tub for soothing aching muscles after a long day of your favorite mountain activities.
Speaking of mountain activities - if you can’t bear to hike without your trail-tested pooch, bring him along! For a small nightly fee, one dog is welcome.
If you’re visiting during the winter, make sure to bring your skis or snowboard for challenging runs on powder-laden slopes at Purgatory Durango Mountain Resort (just 22 miles north), or opt for a snowmobile tour of the area’s abundant backcountry.
Home to Trimble Hot Springs, epic mountain views aboard the Durango/Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad train, and a historic downtown with great shopping and local eateries, Durango has something for everyone. Kids will love skiing on fun snowbikes at Purgatory, while adults can browse clothing boutiques, eclectic restaurants, and other businesses along Main Street, only three and a half miles south of this home. There’s also plenty of area adventures on horseback, on raft or kayak, or by foot on hiking trails in Mesa Verde National Park (just 41 miles west).
