Manzanita Certificate Of Authority: MCA #520
This adorable two-level Manzanita vacation rental is just steps from the beach, shops, galleries, and restaurants. With unique touches and ocean views, you and your guests will have a memorable experience in this beautiful space.
Easily accessible from this location are a number of day trip destinations, including Cannon Beach for gallery browsing, antiquing in Wheeler, museums and the Fort George Brewery in Astoria. The first two destinations are about a 20-minute drive, and Astoria is just an hour north, with plenty of opportunities for photo taking along the way.
Inside this home, you will be enveloped in warm pastels and plenty of windows. Do a little storm watching out the west-facing upstairs windows. The main living area is upstairs, decorated with an eye-catching shabby chic aesthetic. With colors like blue, greens, and yellows, this space has a decidedly clean, beachy feel. Lounge back on the couch and watch a DVD on the flat screen TV, or pull out some board games to play with the group.
A dining table seats four right by a cozy window seat. After dinner, curl up on the cushions with a glass of merlot and gaze out at the ocean. In addition to the dining table, there are three bar stools at the kitchen counter to grab a quick snack or set up your laptop and check your email with the complimentary WiFi.
In the open kitchen, cheery bright yellow cabinets greet you, as well as all the major appliances you'll need for whipping up a pot of satisfying clam chowder or even pan-roasting some steaks. Once your finished with dinner, you will be happy to find a convenient dishwasher to make clean up a breeze. In the mornings, brew up a cup of fresh ground coffee in the coffee maker and head out to the deck to enjoy the morning ocean views.
Also on the deck outside, aside from a beautiful view, you'll have a private hot tub and propane grill at your disposal. After spending the day beach combing, collecting shells, and flying kites, come back for a warming soak in the hot tub followed by grilled salmon or skewers of shrimp. This upper deck wraps around the whole front of the home and has plenty of patio furniture so you'll be able to find your favorite spot to relax. You can even take advantage of the outdoor firepit to share stories and roast some s'mores!
The main level bedroom has a queen bed and a TV, as well as a futon for extra sleeping space or a cozy spot to lounge and read a book. This room also has tall, slanted ceilings and a pretty iron bed frame. Downstairs, the second bedroom awaits. This room also has a queen sized bed and a TV, making its inhabitants very comfortable. On this lower level there is also a second living room with a sleeper sofa for additional sleeping options. This home will sleep up to 8 guests, and though no dog bed is provided, there is no need to leave your furry friend at home! This vacation rental allows one dog under 50 pounds (though a nightly fee per dog and a minimum fee per stay will apply).
Two bathrooms are also conveniently located throughout the home - one upstairs and one downstairs. Other amenities include a laundry room with a washer and dryer for guest use, and central heating for those chilly coast nights. After a long day on the beach, come back to a warm and toasty house.
Outside, there's a yard for kids and dogs to play that is partially surrounded by trees. And just about two houses away - beach access! Enjoy seven miles of beautiful, flat, sandy beach. Run with the dog, fly kites, bring a picnic down to the beach and spend a sunny afternoon watching the waves roll in.
In the mornings when you don't feel like simply having bagels at the house, join the locals in line for pastries and coffee drinks at Bread and Ocean Bakery - and while you're there, you may want to pick up a loaf of freshly baked bread to go with your clam chowder dinner. After fueling up, if it's a nice day, make the hike up to Neahkahnie summit for amazing views all down the coast to Tillamook Bay.
Easily walkable from the house, in addition to the bakery, you'll find a nice collection of bookstores, restaurants, shops, and galleries along the main drag of Laneda Avenue. Pick up some books and spend the day reading on the beach or at your cozy dining room window seat.
On stormy nights, brave the weather and pick up a roasted vegetable pizza at Marzano's and spend the night inside, watching DVDs or playing board games. Or, hole up at Vino Manzanita for some wine, warming snacks, and live music.
Whether it's at the height of the summer season, or a quiet winter weekend, the Oregon Coast is truly a year-round destination. And at this cozy, Manzanita getaway, everyone in your group will feel right at home.
