Beautifully furnished and exceptionally cozy, this Rockaway Beach vacation rental invites you to kick back and relax with stunning oceanfront views, bright and spacious rooms, and plenty of modern conveniences, including a hot tub. Bring your family, or a group of up to six, for a most rejuvenating getaway on the Northern Oregon Coast!
If you’re looking for a beachside home with quick access to town attractions, this is your place! Its oceanfront location means you can easily explore the sandy shore, stroll down the seven-mile-long beach, and watch spectacular sunsets on clear nights. But don’t limit your exploring just to the beach - take a short walk to discover souvenir shops and quaint eateries along Highway 101, or fish for trout, swim, and kayak in Lake Lytle.
A modern beach home with comfortable furnishings, sweeping views of the coastline, and artful decor, Surftide Cottage is an adorable home away from home. Enter into the main floor of this bi-level home and you’ll see a lovely open floor plan with a spacious living area, a dining nook, a kitchen area, and one of three bedrooms.
A bit tired from your travels? Crack open a favorite beverage and settle into the living area’s comfy seating, which includes bright orange and brown leather couches. Kick off your shoes, flip on the TV, and enjoy a group movie thanks to the Blu-ray player and DVD library (located in the hallway closet). The flatscreen TV is also cable- and Netflix-equipped, so catch up on all your favorite series.
For even more entertainment, break out the home’s badminton set and have a fun tournament, or take out any of the board games to play with your group. On chilly days, throw some logs into the fireplace and quickly warm the room with a fire. You’ll easily fall into a relaxed mood thanks to the nautical ambiance created by the captain’s wheel and vaulted wood beam ceilings resembling an old wooden ship’s hull.
When it’s time to eat, head into the kitchen, just around the corner from the living area, to whip up a fresh, homemade meal. Use its modern appliances, a variety of cookware, and ample countertops for quick meal prep and cleanup. Enjoy shared meals at the kitchen table, which, with two seats and benches, will easily provide enough seating for your whole group.
Pair fresh tuna steaks, Dungeness crab, or other local delicacies with a fine Oregon pinot, then head onto the back deck with panoramic views, and you have a recipe for beachside bliss! Or create your meal outside on the gas grill.
Afterwards, take a leisurely stroll down the beach to hunt seashells deposited by the surf, or back indoors for more game playing in the second-floor loft space. You could also take out your laptop and use the WiFi to plan your next adventures, or freshen up any laundry in the washer/dryer.
At the end of an eventful day of sightseeing along the coast and in town, retire for restful sleep in any of the home’s three bedrooms. Up to eight guests (six adults maximum) are accommodated on queen beds in two rooms, one of which is upstairs and the other downstairs. Also upstairs is a set of twin beds in a third room, and there's also a sofabed, should you need extra sleeping space. Modestly furnished with coastal decor, items like nightstands, reading lamps, and area lighting, the bedrooms are simple and clean, perfect for getting a great night’s sleep. The family dog is also welcome to join you for an additional nightly fee.
Wake up to abundant natural light streaming in through bedroom picture windows, ready for a new day of Rockaway Beach adventures. Start off with a visit to Ring of Fire Glassworks (one and a half miles south) for a glassblowing lesson with a local artist. Brew some hot cocoa and take the whole family for a leisurely stroll down the Rockaway Beach Wayside where you can view interesting rock formations, including the iconic Twin Rocks, and hunt for clams and other hidden treasures brought in with the tide. You could pick up freshly harvested clams and oysters at the Jetty Marina (just two and a half miles north), where you could also rent a boat or crab pots for a day of coastal fun on Nehalem Bay.
In the mood for a fun day trip? Grab your binoculars and a camera for wildlife viewing and snapping photos of pristine coastal wetlands at Nehalem Bay State Park (parking access is just 13 miles north), or go just a bit farther north to surf on Short Sands Beach in Oswald West State Park (15 miles north). Sure to be fun for the whole family, a visit to the world-famous Tillamook Cheese Factory (24 miles south) will have you sampling fresh cheeses and delicious ice cream on a tour of the huge facility.
