If it's time to take a break from the hustle and bustle, consider this two-level cottage situated right on the waters of the Alburgh Passage (on Lake Champlain) complete with a full kitchen, new deck, and enclosed grassy yard.
This spacious, three-bedroom rental is located near the tip of the Alburgh Tongue, a peninsula extending from Canada into Lake Champlain and accessible via U.S. Highway 2. Cast a line off the deck out back and fish for perch, pike, and bass or just kick back with a refreshing drink during the summer months and watch the boats drift past. If you'd like to explore the water up close, just head to the small private beach to relax!
This home blends plenty of rustic features with a number of recently updated, modern amenities to make for a wonderful, lakeside home away from home for the entire family.
The first of two distinct living spaces is located on the main level. This area boasts rich wooden walls and ceilings, a comfortable sofa and armchair, and access out to the furnished back deck. Alongside this, there's a dining table with seating for six and a well-equipped kitchen.
The kitchen is stocked with a variety of cookware and dinnerware as well as an array of essential appliances. During the summer, fire up the grill outside and enjoy a family cookout.
Upstairs, there's a second living area with high ceilings, walls of large windows overlooking the lake, a warming wood stove, sofa, and two fun glider chairs.
The bedrooms are all located adjacent to this space and include a master with a queen-size bed, one guest room with a double, and a third room with a twin and a second double bed. With three bedrooms, a double futon in the upstairs living room, and a full bath, this home sleeps up to 10 guests (9 comfortably). The family dog is also welcome to join you for an additional nightly fee.
This is a wonderfully peaceful retreat, so WiFi is not offered in this home. However, there is a selection of books as well as a TV with DVD player and media library in the upstairs living room to keep you entertained on rainy or snowy days. This home does come with a private washer/dryer, so you can leave those bulky, overstuffed suitcases at home and start each day of your vacation with fresh, clean clothes.
Those looking for some adventures in the great outdoors can head out on the water in a canoe or kayak or take a short drive (or even walk) into Alburgh Dunes State Park, a 625-acre property offering one of the longest beaches on Lake Champlain, ideal for swimming, as well as picnic facilities, fantastic fishing, and hiking trails. Or visit the historic town of Swanton, just 17 miles away, for shopping, dining, the R.R. Depot Museum, and the Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge.
If you're looking for that perfect "get away from it all" destination, this lakeside home is ideal. Make your reservation with us today and start packing your bags!
*Please note: This cottage uses a lake water supply system. It is recommended that you bring drinking water. Also, lake level is not guaranteed. Thanks!
