Best Time To Visit

Depending on what you like to do, Jackson can be a lovely pet friendly destination any time of year. 

If you’re traveling with a husky, winter is your season when the valley is blanketed in snow. Enjoy snowshoeing or just sit by the fireplace at your pet friendly condo while the powder piles up outside. Temperatures are usually below freezing. 

Spring brings runoff from the melting snow to expand the local rivers. The highway north to Yellowstone National Park doesn’t open until mid-May, making for a quiet stay. 

And in summer, you can enjoy hiking with sunny skies and cool nights for easy sleeping. Enjoy all your favorite summer activities in the fall with the addition of stunning foliage displays. September and October offer the most consistent weather of the year.

Both spring and fall are considered "shoulder seasons" offering the best lodging deals. 

Things Not To Miss

You’ll find plenty of hikes for all abilities in the valley. While dogs must be on leash on Pathways in town, they are permitted off-leash outside the city limits.

Enjoy clean eating on the pet friendly patio at Healthy Being Juicery. Or check out one of the local breweries for a flight of local beers. 

And while Yellowstone National Park has strong restrictions on pets, you can enjoy the pristine wilderness of the nearby Bridger-Teton National Forest. You’ll see abundant wildlife and scenery without the crowds of a national park.
